Tenacity
…is what we practice during tough days.
Not every day you wake up you’ll feel one hundred percent.
There’s no way to be always in the mood.
Some days suck!
Highs come with lows, and during the low times is when perseverance comes to play. If you care enough, you will do what’s necessary to keep it up. To continue moving forward and challenge yourself.
Don’t get me wrong. It’s okay taking a break, a day off even. We must listen to our bodies when things aren’t going well and rest. But if the day comes when you can’t avoid it, there is a reward at the end of the day. Even if you didn’t get the results, you hope to get them. After all, you weren’t feeling your best, but cheer yourself up. You have practiced endurance.
Many days like that will show up. I hope you have the freedom to take them easy. But if you can’t, remember the tenacity moments you have under your belt. Wear them proudly; you earned them. You got this.
Today I was going through one of those hard days. My mind was all over the place. I struggled during my evening workout, which was tedious (for real, it was a never-ending number of reps). By the end of the training, I complained to my brother about how hard it went. — What did we even work? I asked to what he replied — On your tenacity.
I wouldn’t have connected the dots if it wasn’t for him. He answered what I had been wondering the whole day. I guess what I’m really trying to say here is that I’m happy I had that brownie for breakfast. I didn’t spend the whole day in bed, of course.
